Much like the recent storm swept through the north-west the night before, Manchester City blew United away at the Etihad. It was a statement three-nil victory for Andrée Jeglertz’s side due to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that clearly signaled their leadership claims as they strengthened their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Back-to-Back Losses for Manchester United

This result marked successive WSL losses for Marc Skinner’s side for the first time since May 2024, putting them a significant margin off the top team with their title hopes hanging by a thread.
